Questions we get asked
Will it handle real golf balls?
Yes. That’s what it’s built for. These screens were developed in commercial simulator venues taking driver shots all day before they were sold to anyone.
Can it take driver shots?
Yes. Screen tension matters as much as the material — a slack screen takes more damage and reads worse on impact. Fix it taut.
Does it reduce bounce-back?
The material absorbs more impact energy than thin budget screens, so the ball comes back with less pace. It’s a golf ball travelling at speed either way — stand where you’d stand behind any simulator.
How is it installed?
With whatever fixing you chose when you built it. Eyelets take bungees or hooks through a frame. Velcro needs a receiving strip on your frame. A pole pocket takes a batten or tube. A weighted rope in the bottom hem keeps the screen hanging straight without floor fixings.
Does it come with fixings?
No. We supply the screen, made to your exact spec. The eyelets, hems and pockets are built into it — but bungees, hooks, battens and velcro receiving strips aren’t included. Most venues already have them, and the ones that don’t can buy them for a few pounds rather than paying us to bundle them.
Will it work for a home simulator?
Yes. Home builds, garage setups, coaching studios and commercial venues all order the same screens. The only difference is size.
Can I use it for other sports?
Yes. The same screen works for baseball, tennis, cricket and any multi-sport simulator setup. It’s specified for repeated golf ball impact, which is among the hardest things you can put into a projection surface, and it handles other sports without any change to the screen itself.
Size and fixing are the only things that vary — build it to your bay the same way you would for golf.
What size should I order?
The finished size you want the screen to be. There’s no size chart to compromise against, so it’s whatever your bay needs — and how much material you want beyond the frame for fixing and tension is your call. We build to the numbers you give us. If you’re between two figures, the larger one is the safer mistake.
White or grey?
White if you can darken the room. Grey if you can’t. Grey buys you contrast, not durability.
Can you make one bigger than 3.2m?
In one direction, as long as you need. Over 3.2m in both directions needs a seam, and we’d want to talk to you before building that. Send us the dimensions.
How long does it take?
Two to four weeks. Every screen is cut and finished to your measurements, so there’s nothing sitting on a shelf to send you. Delivery is included — next day in the UK once it’s dispatched, air freight internationally.
What if it arrives and it's wrong?
If it doesn’t match the drawing you signed off, that’s on us and we’ll replace it. If the drawing matches what you asked for but the measurements were wrong, that’s a new screen — it’s cut to your dimensions and can’t be re-cut. This is why the sign-off step is deliberate.
How long will it last?
Our screens are tested to 200,000 golf shots. In practice, life depends on how hard the bay gets used and how well the screen is tensioned — a commercial bay running all day will wear a screen faster than a home build, and a slack screen wears faster than a taut one. Most venues replace on a nine to twelve month cycle.
What if something's wrong with it?
If a screen arrives with a manufacturing fault, send us a photo and we’ll sort it — replaced or refunded, and you don’t pay for it. Tell us within 20 days of delivery. After that a manufacturing fault and ordinary wear get hard to tell apart, because a screen in daily use wears fast. Ball-strike wear is the screen doing its job, not a fault. Your legal rights as a consumer are unaffected by anything on this page — what we replace, in full.
